The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire has received a big ‘ol update, overhauling its campaign and adding several new ways for players to expand their illegal business operations.
The free New Blood update is available now on PC through Steam Early Access and is described as the game’s biggest Campaign Mode overhaul to date. Publisher Tripwire Presents and Turkish developer BEF Games say the update builds on the foundations introduced in the previous From the Streets release.

Campaign Mode now begins with a more cinematic, action-focused opening sequence intended to throw new players straight into the criminal underworld. From there, the game gradually introduces its various management and simulation systems before opening up into the wider empire-building experience.
Mission progression has also been redesigned, with a more structured introduction helping players understand the game’s mechanics without removing the freedom offered by its separate Sandbox Mode.
New criminal enterprises include underground burglary operations managed through the Office, while players can recruit additional Street Dealers to expand their distribution networks across the city.
Restaurants and street food vendors now have a practical purpose beyond making Night City feel more populated. Visiting them can restore health and provide temporary bonuses, while several new interiors can be entered while exploring in third person.
Vehicles have received some attention as well. Players can enter drift races to earn extra money before taking their cars to the Chop Shop, where wraps, engine upgrades and armour enhancements can be installed.
The update also expands the game’s turf-war systems. Players can raid a warehouse belonging to the Kurohana crime family, while controlled territories now generate profit shares from rival gangs. BEF Games has also made adjustments to the police system alongside a selection of general quality-of-life improvements.
Set in a fictional version of Night City during the early 2000s, The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire combines open-world action with business management and criminal simulation. Players begin as a low-level gangster before building businesses, recruiting workers, fighting rivals and attempting to take control of the city.
The New Blood update is available now for all owners of The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire on Steam Early Access. The developer says additional updates are planned as the game continues towards its full 1.0 release.
