Blizzard is previewing World of Warcraft: Midnight patch 12.1.5, the next content update. It adds a new story campaign, a single-boss raid, a mega-dungeon-style feature called Labyrinths, and a timed outdoor public event.
The update, titled The Promise of Tomorrow, picks up directly after the Curse of Ula'tek campaign's serpentine boss fight. Ula'tek's defeat has awakened a long-slumbering threat: the C'Thraxxi general Kith'ix. The campaign involves an uneasy peace between Quel'thalas and Zul'Aman as players descend into the depths of the Coiled Isle.
What's Included in 12.1.5
- Story Campaign: The Promise of Tomorrow continues after Ula'tek's defeat and builds toward a final confrontation with Kith'ix.
- One-Boss Raid: The Unbinding of Kith'ix has players face the newly unbound general alongside Lady Liadrin in a focused encounter beneath the Vaults of Ula'tek.
- Labyrinths: A new endgame format for players who like the exploration of Delves but want something deeper. These sprawling, mega-dungeon-like runs can be cleared in one sitting or resumed across multiple sessions.
- Kindo'jan: The first Labyrinth is an ancient Amani funeral complex, reopened and contested by looters and Vilebranch raiders while its interred spirits defend it. Valeera Sanguinar accompanies players throughout the run.
- Ascendant Venomstones: Ascendant Voidcores are set to return as Ascendant Venomstones following the update's launch.
Aqir Invasion
Separate from the story and dungeon content, Aqir Invasions bring zone-wide public events to Eversong or Zul'Aman. For ten minutes every hour, champions work through a chain of public objectives before facing a boss fight, whether that means fending off aerial assaults or rallying defenders on the ground.

Each invasion has six scenario types-three combat-focused and three non-combat-focused. Combat scenarios can also draw from a pool of eight affixes, adding variety to the repeatable event. Players who band together can complete as many objectives as possible before the ten-minute window closes.
